Unitec Semiconductors is the largest and most advanced semiconductor manufacturer in the Southern Hemisphere — and a project of this scale could only rely on the specialized expertise and high-end technology provided by TENTI. Unitec is a joint venture formed by Corporación América, the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), the Development Bank of Minas Gerais (BDMG), and the companies IBM Corporation, Matec, and WS In Tecs.
The factory, located in Ribeirão das Neves (MG), is responsible for producing integrated circuits used in a wide range of applications, including smart cities, IoT (Internet of Things) projects, banking and ID cards, SIM cards, industrial and wireless solutions, and the so-called life sciences sector, which involves sensor and microfluidic technologies.
Unitec Semiconductors is building the future — and therefore chose TENTI to support its operations.
TENTI committed to a comprehensive project aimed at integrating Unitec’s technological infrastructure. It began with SAP environment cleansing and upgrading, and concluded with the implementation of mobility solutions to streamline overall business management. The project also includes the integration of the factory’s various machines — along with their communication protocols and interfaces — into the Equipment Integration layer of the MES (Inframe Synapse); accounting and tax compliance; asset management; inventory control; and implementation of the eSocial, HR, EHS, and Business Intelligence modules, as well as the migration to SAP S/4HANA.
